Hash Review: Afghan Black Pressed Hash by Vortex
🖤 Vortex – Afghan Black Pressed Hash

The darling of reddit for some time now. It has the most pliable and easy to work with texture on OCS and is currently testing at a whopping 49% THC. It’s a massive departure from the so called “black” hashes put out in the earlier days of legalization, which all resembled plain pressed kief without a cure to speak of. Since then some LPs have been putting out better product, but Vortex is differentiating themselves with a much lower price. They are pricing like the lower quality compressed kiefs but are putting out hash more akin to the well received Tremblant or The Batch.
It’s packaged in a tiny parchment pouch inside the standard tear-open. As such it got somewhat squished and some oils spread to the paper. It is easily workable from the start, without the need for heat, not even the customary heating with just your hands. It’s incredibly greasy in the best way. Unfortunately, it is pretty grainy, not being processed quite enough to smooth it out. However that is aesthetics, as it doesn’t effect the quality of the smoke nor is it a big enough issue to effect its ease of use. The heavy cure is the most noticeable part of this hash. Pitch black on the outside and inside a darker brown than anything I’ve seen on this continent. This was given the time needed to mature to its best flavour and feel.
The high is a classic, full of nostalgia and cozy comfort. In the mind the full whopping 49% THC is felt, but not with the buzzing felt from a lot of flower. It’s gentle, warm. Heavy pressure behind the eys that calms. It is not sleepy until the crash letting you just vibe with whatever. The body effects are very strong, letting you stretch out knots you didn’t even know were there. Stress decompression at it’s finest, in all it’s gassy glory.
Vortex’s black afghan has become my go to for any joint that needs souping up. Its easily workable texture is perfect on the go, great for subway rolling. And the always high THC makes sure it will punch everyone in the sesh. Classic, actually old school, black pressed hash. 🖤🥊🖤⛽🖤
