Strain Review: Cherry Soda by Empire

You are always taking a chance when you buy a new strain from a new company. Thankfully the bud tenders at the dispensary in Long Beach pointed me to one of their favorite brands on the menu.
Anything Cherry calls out to me so the selection was a no brainer.
The first impression opening the jar is a very unique aroma settling into the air. The cultivar gives off an earthy dark chocolate scent with the tartness of a cherry candy. A slight smell of fresh wood as well. It did not blow up out of the jar so it would be easy to mask the scent on this one. Good for people who like to keep their recreation discreet. I love when the strains are fitting to their name it shows that the cultivator took their time fine tuning the feno to achieve their vision.
The nuggets were soft and spongey is texture. Perfectly dried there was just enough moisture to maintain its sticky dense buds. I found that visually it was an attractive cultivar lime green traits on the bud are always desirable the hairs a little more tan than they were orange with more than moderate trichome accumulation.
The flavor experience was impressive. As noted before I was expecting more of a crisp cherry 7up encounter. What I received was a clear profile of chocolate covered cherries. It was almost weird, I hate chocolate covered cherries 🤣 but it was not enough to scare me away. It also helped me imagine me of what a possible cherry root beer would taste like. The tart sweetness of cherries coupled with a caramel vanilla coke.
The high was moderate it took some time to reach its peak then it took you into a euphoric mode where the body does indeed become lazy but the mind dances from one thought to the next. In the end what I thought was the highlight of this strain was the unique terpene profile it presented. I really never tasted cannabis like this but it shows the possibilities and shows that taking a chance with new people can be very good. Shout out @thinc.distribution
