Strain Review: Rosebud Kush by Rosebud Growers
Rosebud Kush from @rosebudgrowers. It’ll come into your mind at night and wreck up the place like Richard Nixon. Like, my medicine cabinet has been roughly 70-80% GMO crosses lately, but this is the hardest hitter I have right now.

The GMO flavor profile dominates throughout, with those kinda dried shit/manure notes really hitting their crescendo after about a week on the shelf. While those notes dominated, it had a notable floral, mildly fruity aspect to it that kept it from just being generic GMO terps like a lot of stuff these days. Next to the Fatso that @focusnorthgardens grows, I think this is probably one of the most pleasant GMO smells I’ve enjoyed. Like, it’s just a name, but there were some actual rose petal notes I managed to pull, and that’s just neat.
Honestly, the effects were a little intense for me sometimes. It’ll melt your mind like it does your face, and the feeling I got in my chest right afterward really mimicked panic symptoms for me. Some strains will do that. I’ve noticed a lot of Afghani varieties will cause that tight feeling of dread in your chest after the exhale. If you’re prone to anxiety, there might be some better options out there for you. Try some Romulan. That always puts a smile on my face.
It’s an indica leaner, but not the best suited for problems like insomnia. I could see it being a pain reliever for some, but it was a mind expander for me, and that doesn’t tend to translate well into sleep. Solid nausea strain as well. Overall some solid therapeutic value, especially considering there are very few strains that actually help my insomnia. I think I might do a list of my favorite insomnia strains in Oregom sometime around the new year. Little change up from the same old content.
I really can’t recommend these guys enough. They’re on par with your favorite growers (maybe not @evans_creek_farms or @surfr, but you gotta keep expectations realistic), they aren’t owned or run by some out of state company that doesn’t give a shit about our market, and they truly care about their craft. Like, I don’t want to verbally felate them too much, but they’re great.
