Stroop Waffle Strain Review

stroop waffle by brave boat gardens strain review by toptierterpsmaOur first honorary review goes to this gem from @brave_boat_gardens in Maine. This one was nothing less than a hitter! When I first opened the bag this past weekend nose was instantly greeted by sweet vanilla creme notes with a earthy twang that most bud from Maine (from my experience) tend to have. The uniqueness in this coming from the wafer which I could not initially put my finger on. As mentioned, the smell reminded me of the Pizelle cookies my mom used to get when I was a kid at the Christmas Tree Shop 😋. This makes sense as the pizelle is an Italian version of a stroopwafel. As I broke open the buds (and these things were boulders) I was met with even more vanilla Pizelle-like notes and various hues of green, white and purple. Man she was a frosty girl 🥶 to say the least. The breakup of the bud is more dense and extremely sticky (stick to your thumb type stuff). I prefer a two-turn grind when breaking this up so the buds don’t get stuck in the grinder and you get maximum break up output. When I lit up this masterpiece I was taken away with how smooth the first hit was. The inhale was identical as the nose: sweet and creamy. The exhale was delightful surprise as the taste turned from sweet to earthy and a bit tangy which I was not expecting. Of course, the tang could be felt a little more when rolled in a fronto than in a Raw which makes sense because blunts can have that impact. However, even though I am more of a fronto guy by nature I enjoyed this one a little more in the Raw paper as the creamy sensation was brought out just a little more. The ash resembled a light grey with a slight whiteness to it leaving no resin ring around the raw. Not sure, but I think this is attributed by thick the bud was in its form which left very little kief particles behind. This had a nice greyish to white ash and I did not have to worry about it going out at all. If anything, I could of left it in the ashtray, went to the bathroom and I wouldn’t be surprised if that thing stayed lit LOL. The smoke was a rich and heavy white color when blown in the air. The high was even better than the aesthetics. I was met with an overwhelming body high that took over within 15-20 minutes. I smoked about 3/4 of it and tapped out for a little bit. Thereafter, I was consumed by the munchies and, luckily for me, my girlfriend had prepared some cast iron pork chops with a rosemary and garlic garnish. This may be a bold statement but this is more than likely in my top 5 new strain tries this year. Out of the 4 different strains I got from Maine this past weekend it certainly rose to the top. Overall, this was my first time trying anything from Brave Boat Gardens and it’s safe to say this won’t be my last. Keep up the great work guys! Top Tier approved ✅ Overall 9.3/10
