Crazy Lit Asians 2024 to host Lunar New Year Celebration of the Hokkien Diaspora

[FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE] Hokkien Diaspora, Around the World – The Crazy Lit Asians Dinner series will return in 2024 to celebrate the Year of the Dragon with a Filipino, Taiwanese, and Malaysian feast. For 2024, Chef Yana Gilbuena will be joined by Chef Linda Tay Esposito and Chef Henry Hsu featuring dishes from the Hokkien diaspora. Chef Yana Gilbuena explained the key difference in this year’s dinner theme in an email
“This time we’re tracing the Hokkien connection between Taiwan, Malaysia and Philippines!”
The official event notice reads:
“The Crazy Lit Asians💚 With a 🐲 Year of the Dragon 🐉 celebration! 🧧🧧🧨🍍🍑 🏮🌿 💚 We will be honoring the cultural legacy of the Hokkien diaspora across the maritime routes of Asia. From coastal Fujian to just a hop across the Straits of Formosa and onward to Manila, home of the world’s oldest Chinatown and down to the safe harbors of the Malay archipelago, the Hokkien heritage ties us all together.  And with a little bit of 🌿 💚, we will all certainly be “Ka Ki Lang”.”

The Crazy Lit Asians 2024 announcement continued with an explanation of the dose-your-own approach that is inclusive of all types of cannabis users – including those that don’t wish to partake. The three countries represented in this year’s Crazy Lit Asians are: The chefs proudly described how they’re tying in the Lunar New Year celebration into this modern AAPI take on a traditional 15th day Chinese New Year feast:
“We’re doing 4 courses 3 ways, so 12 courses 🤣 to represent the 12 months of the year and also the 12 zodiac signs. (Plus some little something-something ;)) This is a 🌿 DOSE-YOUR-OWN 💚 dinner! Food will be 💚-free, but we will have lots of 💚 oils, sauces and dips (and more) to enhance your dining experience.
