Never having had any flowers from the renowned FGA Cultivar and New Era Exotics before, I was excited to be able to try this two strain split combo, with one part being their Super Sour Berry and the other, currently being reviewed; Zaygo, an exotic Zkittlez Pheno. With the branding depicting lean being poured in a cup. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by a zesty Zkittlez aroma, displaying strong notes of cherries and grapefruit with light lemon and lime undertones. Smelling like Rainbow Ice Gola or Zourzop as a reference.
The buds were of a medium to hard density and had a typical Zkittlez structure. They were a shade of light green alongside messy rustic pistils and enriched in glistening trichomes. Upon inhaling my palate was overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering an exotic Zkittlez profile with distinctive sour zesty traits of grapefruit and faint lime, dominating the creamier cherry notes sometimes more apparent in other phenotypes. Tasting enjoyable none the less. The taste of this zesty Zkittlez was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of light grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, aside from the buds arriving small and squashed (which is responsibility of the person packaging), I overall found Zaygo to taste exactly how it smelt, delivering an enjoyable zesty rendition of Zkittlez, with tasty refreshing notes of grapefruit infused with light undertones of cherries, lemon and lime. It smoked pleasantly well, ticking most boxes and with minimal dialling in required, can only be improved and remain an exotic staple of the FGA and New Era Exotics lineup, being a perfect strain to complement it’s gassier Super Sour Berry counterpart in this combo pack.
