👀: The design on this was cool featuring cherries and snakes, giving it a unique aesthetic. At the top, the classic Real Deal Resin font proudly displays their name, alongside Sticky Fields, the cultivator. As for the rosin itself, it had a very terpy gooey consistency with a pale beige color to it hue in person, though it appeared darker on camera, adding to its visual intrigue. 8.4/10
👃: The nose on this is something special a truly unique, complex and loud terp profile. It hits with a potent blend of a mild sweet, pine-like fruit wrapped in an earthy undertone. As the notes come together, you’re left with a beautifully balanced aroma that’s both rich and intriguing. Definitely a standout terp profile. 8.8/10
👅: The flavor of Durban Cherry Tree is just as captivating as its aroma. On the inhale, you’re hit with a sharp, slightly sweet tang that quickly unfolds into subtle piney, earthy undertones. This layered complexity creates a smooth, deeply satisfying dabbing experience rich, balanced, and undeniably unique. 8.9/10
Overall: The moment I saw this jar, I knew it had to be mine. A collab between Real Deal Resin and Sticky Fields? There was no way I was passing that up it was only right.
For those who don’t know, Jesse (Sticky Fields) is a legendary cultivator out of Mendocino County, famous for growing massive, sun-grown cannabis using only organic inputs. He’s also a master of fruits, veggies, and all kinds of plants. This was the first time he decided to freeze his flower for solventless concentrates, which made this drop even more special.
The rosin was absolute fire when you’ve got a top-tier grower like Sticky Fields and a top-tier washer like Real Deal Resin, you know you’re in for a treat. The effects were great—medicinal, relaxing, but not couch-locking. I actually felt more focused, which was a nice surprise.
I even got a chance to talk to Sticky Fields on Instagram, and he shared a cool backstory about the Cherry Tree male cross. Turns out, it was a volunteer male that popped up beside a massive, actual cherry tree in his garden—hence the name. He had no clue what it was, but it grew into a 9-foot monster with 13-point leaves, a real beauty. He ended up using that Cherry Tree male in multiple crosses, including the Durban Cherry Tree I’m smoking now, as well as the Mandarin Cherry Tree and more.
Sticky mentioned that he’s breeding Cherry Tree and Mandarin Cherry Tree this year since he has F2 seeds ready. Plus, the Durban Cherry Tree has been doing great in stores as both flower and hash—it washes well, making it a cultivator’s dream. The best part? Sticky confirmed he’s growing more for rosin in the future, so I’m hyped to see what he cooks up next. 😮💨
Overall, this was an incredible jar, and I can’t wait to try more from Real Deal Resin and Sticky Fields in the future.
