Cutright Candy Cannabis Cultivar (“Strain”) Review
When you first crack open the jar, you’re hit with a candy sweet, creamy, doughy aroma mixed with berries and rich fruit. There’s a slight sour tang and a cakey undertone, almost like opening up a fresh bag of sour candy. On the breakdown, it opens up into a fruity, cakey, creamy candy scent with gassy and floral hints kind of like eating a bowl of cereal and being left with that sweet, flavored milk at the bottom.
On the inhale, it’s gassy, creamy, earthy, floral, sweet, and candylike. The exhale brings out rich berry notes with creamy, earthy, gassy layers, plus a starchy, slightly sour finish. The flavor reminds me of Captain Crunch either sipping the cereal milk after finishing a bowl, or eating the sweet, crunchy crumbs left at the bottom of the bag. The more you smoke, the richer and deeper the flavor gets.
The joint burned clean with whitish ash and smooth but thick smoke, giving nice lung expansion. The flavor transfers perfectly from smell to taste, coating the palate and leaving you wanting to keep hitting it. The high is euphoric, relaxing, clearheaded, spacey, and carefree. It starts with pressure around the temples, making your head feel heavy yet light at the same time. It settles behind the eyes, making them feel low and heavy, while your muscles release tension and your whole body sinks into calm.
Even though the high is clear, I noticed that if I focused too hard, I would start to space out. I’d call this a solid midday to night strain perfect for chilling at the beach, enjoying the breeze, or hanging out with friends.
