Cannabis Chef Alex Scherma on the Bluegrass Cannabis Podcast

This week on the Bluegrass Cannabis Podcast we’re talking to Alex Scherma, a creator, hashmaker, event curator, and concept chef. Currently working as the Head Chef at Ganjier. He is the founder of WhattheDamnHealth, a lifestyle brand focused on health, cannabis, food, and education. You can find him on instagram @whatthedamnhealth, and on whatthedamnhealth.com .

Alex has gone from New Jersey, to Asheville, NC, to Humboldt County California and too many places to tell in between. Alex is also a California State Fair Cannabis Judge, an incredible human, and based out of Humboldt County CA.

In the interview, Alex dives into his personal history with weed, how he found his way into using it in cooking for others and himself, as well as what he’s been doing lately to create incredible cannabis food event pairings.

We’ve gotten the chance to eat many of Alex’s meal and every one of them has been an incredible experience, and always evolving. Alex focuses on healthy, local, organic foods, and crafting meals from small farms that don’t just make you high, but keep you healthy and support communities. If you’re looking for someone to cook the healthiest, most beautiful, most baked dinners in California, Alex Scherma has the stove hot.

Picking on our porch this week we are beyond excited to Laurel Hells Ramblers playing “Let the Circle Be Unbroken” and a song off of their new album “County Traditions” “Mountain Honey”. You can find them here if you’d like to catch them on tour or grab their new album. You may have heard them on the Old Gods of Appalachia podcast or Appodlachia with Hillbilly Gothic.
