Although with a majority of the Don Merfos lineup being different LCG crosses and phenotypes, not having had this particular new release before, I was interested in seeing how it fared. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by an enticingly refreshing candy aroma, delivering exotic sweet notes of primarily cherries and faint strawberries alongside a piney gentle earthy Gelato gas, with very subdued traits of menthol, peaches and marzipan.

The buds were of a mixed density and had a hybrid structure. They were a shade of light green, barely visible behind a thick almost white layer of gleaming trichomes, with messy rustic pistils. Upon inhaling my palate was instantly overcome by a gassy candy, exhibiting a syrupy sweet infusion of cherries and strawberries, alongside a sour gassy earthiness with light traits of citrus, menthol, pine and chemicals.

The taste of this sweet gas was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both relatively smooth and tasted clean. To conclude, despite Pancho Villa producing a darker shade of ash than desired, this fortunately did not affect the overall smoke too much, with it still resulting in a fairly sweet candy profile. With further dialling in still required, Pancho Villa can hopefully be further improved and overtake a few other strains on Don Merfos’s candy lineup.
