His pioneering work- from founding the International Hemp Association to his scientific advancements in cannabis breeding & cultivar development, his research & his advocacy shaped the industry as we know it today. David’s legacy is as authentic as it comes & continues to inspire cultivators, researchers, breeders, extractors & enthusiasts worldwide.
Let’s celebrate Sam the Skunkman the way he would have wanted—with community, gratitude, grace, and a shared love for the plant he devoted his life to normalizing.

Come Celebrate With Us in Remembrance
Organized by Marcus Richardson, Ryan Lee, Donna & Etienne Fontan, this Celebration of Life will be a heartfelt tribute featuring stories from those who knew him best, music, and a space for the community to share their love and gratitude for the man who shaped so much of what we know and love about cannabis today.
A Celebration of Life

Smoker’s Party
Following the memorial, join us for an evening of remembrance at a Smoker’s Party, where we will continue to celebrate Sam’s legacy in a relaxed, welcoming space. This is a smaller space with an absolute maximum of attendees to be limited to 150 people because of fire code regulation.
