Having enjoyed Zaygo, the first part from FGA Cultivar and New Era Exotics split pack, I was excited to be able to try part two, with the review focusing on the Super Sour Berry counterpart. With the same branding, depicting lean being poured in a cup. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by a light candy sweet earthiness, displaying notes of cherries and berries alongside traits of Gelato with undertones of pine, light menthol and faint spice.
The buds were of a medium to hard density and had a hybrid structure. They were a shade of light and medium green with hues of purple, coated in a thick layer of almost white trichomes, alongside minimal rustic pistils.
Upon inhaling my palate was overcome by a sour earthiness with traits of chemicals alongside forest berry undertones. The taste of this mildly sweet sour earthiness was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium grey, alongside an instantaneous oozing and leaking resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, as mentioned with part one, aside from the squashed buds which is always a risk with imported prepackaged packs, I overall found Super Sour Berry to deliver its genetics effectively, delivering the taste as its name suggests; a sour berry Gushers.
It smoked well, ticking most boxes and with some further dialling in, will remain a distinctive staple of FGA Cultivar and New Era Exotics lineup. As a side note, when making a cocktail between both the Super Sour Berries and Zaygo, an extremely sweet syrupy candy is delivered, displaying a complementary infusion of both strains.
