Next to review from Tenco is their infamous Zoy. A distinctive counterpart of its original Zushi and Wazabi lineup. With the branding being a colourful take, referencing the Eastern Asian condiment; Soy Sauce. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by Zoy’s unique scent of very light grapefruit infused with distinctive notes of pine, lemon and Sherbet, displaying its Sunset Sherbet and a somewhat OG distant lineage, not smelling like the common Gelato and Zkittlez crosses usually encountered. The buds were of a medium density and had Zoy’s distinctive hybrid and foxtail structure.
They were a shade of medium to dark green with hues of purple, alongside thick messy rustic pistils and enriched in a universe of glistening trichomes. Upon inhaling my palate was overcome by a floral Sherbet earthiness with subdued traits of grapefruit and cherries, with the taste retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of light grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean. To conclude, with Zoy in general being one of my favourite strains from Tenco, delivering distinctive traits not noted on any other flower, expectations are always set high.
I overall found this batch of Zoy in particular to smoke pleasantly well, displaying more of a Sherbet dominance than its usual enjoyable Zkittlez lineage. Despite this, it ticked most boxes and with some further dialling in, can only be further improved and hopefully bring back more of a Zkittlez presence in the future, remaining as a classic staple of Tenco’s lineup.
