Chang Mai: Rose of The North (2 grams) (90-149u) by The Real Cannabis Chris

👀: The Real Cannabis Chris never disappoints when it comes to presentation. This one featured a holographic image of people on a rollercoaster on the front sticker and a beautifully designed image of Chang Mai, “Rose of the North,” on the back, adding a artistic touch. The rosin itself was a visual standout, proudly displaying The Real Cannabis Chris’s signature thumbprint. Both layers were cold-cure, with the outer Raspberry Bellini layer boasting a soft, pale hue, while the Cran Z x Strawguava center had a more amber tone. The consistency was stable and easy to scoop, ensuring a smooth and effortless handling experience. 8.8/10

👃: The aroma of this strain is intriguing. Cracking open the jar releases a deep, rich sweetness reminiscent of a floral perfume. The terpenes are bold, though not particularly complex or unique on the nose. One thing I’ve consistently noticed with Chris’s jars is that some have a distinct underlying scent that carries across multiple batches. I have no idea what causes this signature aroma—it could stem from the nutrients, the cleaning process, or a combination of other factors—but it’s a recognizable trait that many others have picked up on as well. Personally, I don’t mind it; in fact, I might even say I enjoy it. I don’t find it unpleasant at all, though I know some who feel differently and aren’t fans of the scent. 8.2/10

👅:I tried this thumbprint three ways: the outer layer, the inner layer, and a mix of both. On its own, the Raspberry Bellini outer layer had a unique floral, perfumed funk but wasn’t particularly loud or terpy. The Cran Z x Strawguava inner layer was also on the mellow side—lightly sweet with more flavor than the outer layer. Neither had the bold, mouth-coating terps I was hoping for, and their profiles didn’t quite match their names. However, when combined, they made for a smoother, more tasty dab. The flavor had a subtle sweet-earthy front with a slightly spicy back end, no throat scratch, and a clean finish—but overall, the terps still felt muted.

Overall: If you know me, you know I like The Real Cannabis Chris jars and truly appreciate the phenomenal work he puts into crafting these jars. However, this one just didn’t hit the mark for me, it felt underwhelming. At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference; while it didn’t wow me, someone else might consider it a great jar. For me, the terps were heavily muted, and the effects didn’t pack a punch, making the experience less enjoyable than I’d hoped. I really gave it a fair shot, putting it down and coming back to it after a day, but each time, it just didn’t leave a lasting impression. That said, the hash itself was clean, burned great and had a solid flavor.I probably wouldn’t grab this jar again, as it didn’t quite wow me. I’m still excited to dive into the other jars I picked up and see how they compare, I can’t see any of the others being not enjoyable as this one as the others are strains I really enjoy. Shoutout to The Real Cannabis Chris even though this particular jar wasn’t my favorite, it was still high-quality hash that was clean and had a solid flavor. 8/10
