La Pop Rocks x Purple Push Pop Cannabis Cultivar (“Strain”) Review

Appearance: These buds are a feast for the eyes! There’s a striking contrast of colors ranging from silver, olive green, to a deep blue/violet that seems to pepper around a lot of the guard leaves on this flower. The structure is super stacked. Out of the quarter I got there’s was a good amount of chunky sized tops. The mediums/smalls didn’t have as much color but it is just as drenched in resin as any other part of this plant. I know COA’s these days are crazy but this is definitely some potent looking medicine. These nugs still had a solid moisture content and had a spongy spring back to it when pressed. The breakdown is nice and fluffy but the flower itself is pretty greasy and easy to roll.

Aroma: The smell on this one is so pungent it straight up burned my nostrils when I first got it and took a deep whiff. It just reeks of an effervescent berry like chemical astringency. It was kind of off-putting at first but I grew to love it. Once you get past this lady bashing up your sinuses I can get a picture of what this profile actually is. The impression I get at first is that it smells like a fermented sour green apple that was forgotten in a backpack for a week or two. There’s a certain underlying sweetness that almost reminds me of powdered sugar mixed with berries. No particular berry but definitely berry-like. Underneath that I kind of smell some fresh English lavender that ends on a kind of spicy doughy gassiness that end on a kushy pine.

Taste/Smokeability: This one is pretty kush forward on the palate. Deep earthy mentholated pine coats the tongue instantly. That transitions into more of a fuel like expression with some of those berry like notes I got from the nose. The expansion was pretty moderate but not harsh just more of a thick smoke. Ash was pretty solid white whit decent resin rings that got pretty drippy 20% through the roll. I don’t really taste much of the Purple push pop in this one but that just because the Triangle Kush in the LAPR pretty much dominates this profile. No complaints from this guy.

Effect: This gal will end your day. It’s got narcotic like sedative effects that just make you stop and breathe through how ripped you just made yourself. This is the kind of flower you can pass around and just watch out people’s constitution fail them. A lot of the flower these days is all dazzle no razzle. Not this lady! I know it’s most likely because this cross has the TK bx2 in it but goddamn, it just gets you cooked. Linear thought kind goes out the window and all I want to do is sleep. I definitely enjoy some energizing cultivars from time to time but this is like the antithesis of that. When I smoke this at night I get great sleep. In the day time it’s really relaxing but I can feel a bit groggy afterwards so best to save for later afternoon/night time use.

Overall: Another certified banger from the Sattva crew. The freshness and quality of this sample was insane. I’m a big fan of these terps and the sheer potency of this flower combined with its stunning visual aesthetic make this one a winner in my book. I know some people will say it’s not purple enough but it’s you can overcome that glaring abhorrence you’ll certainly enjoy this flower as much as I did.
