Melon Nishi Cannabis Cultivar (“Strain”) Review

melon nishi by the tenco strain review by jointswithjalen

The aroma is a blend of sweet, fruity, tropical, floral, candy-like notes with a creamy, umami depth, a touch of citrus, and a slight funk. On the breakdown, it leans into that candy sweetness with tropical creaminess, subtle citrus, and umami lingering in the background, all wrapped around a faint funk. Imagine the smell of a fresh cantaloupe or honeydew with a handful of Skittles on the side. On the inhale, you get sweet candy, creamy umami, funky fruitiness.

The exhale brings more of that sweet candy character, along with creamy umami, citrus, tropical hints, and a slightly musky, bitter edge. The taste reminds me of a melon Fresca or the scent of an overripe melon. The joint burned clean with whitish ash and a solid oil ring. The smoke is smooth but thick, giving great lung expansion. The high is euphoric, relaxing, spacey, and carefree.

You start to feel a head pressure, like someone’s gently squeezing the sides of your head and forehead. It begins behind the eyes, making them feel heavy and low. Your body and muscles relax, and any anxiety just fades away. There’s a deep, mellow euphoria if you focus too hard, you start to space out. It’s perfect for just sitting back and enjoying the ride.

Honestly, this is the kind of strain that pairs beautifully with nature great for after a hike or at a scenic lookout. It’s pretty strong, too. The first time I smoked it, I thought I was tripping because the flavor felt muted. I figured it might’ve been user error, so I tried it again on different days with a fresh palate. Each time, the taste was still subtle, almost muted, which was interesting.

It’s interesting to see the different variations of Nishi. Compared to Peach, Melon delivers a stronger high, but Peach stands out with its better flavor.
