Brite Labs Permanent Marker Cannabis Cultivar (“Strain”) Review
⸻
Aroma: 3.5/5
Good nose — earthy gas with a sweet funk. For sungrown, it actually surprised me. Smelled better than that outdoor/mixed-light Permanent Marker run Doja dropped. Not the loudest thing ever, but solid for the category.
Break Down: 3.5/5
Dense nugs, solid trim, rolled easy. Not overly sticky but clean and frosty enough. No shake or larf, just decent structure.
Taste: 3/5
Light gassy inhale, smooth finish. Flavor was fine, but Permanent Marker’s never really been “that” flavor to me — feels like newer terps slapped on an already existing profile. Nothing off-putting, but not special.
High: 3/5
Balanced hybrid buzz. More body than head. Chill smoke, not a slap. Good for background smoking, not for chasing heavy effects.
Duration: 2.5/5
About 30–35 mins before fading. Smooth comedown, but nothing that sticks around.
Overall: 3.1/5
Honestly, I don’t even think Permanent Marker is a legit “elite” cut like people make it out to be. The first batch that hit had some hype, but since then it’s just been mid-level flavor on a profile we’ve already seen — plus, every time I’ve seen it grown it throws seeds. Whether it’s stress or straight herm genetics, that’s a flaw. This Brite Labs batch is clean for sungrown and smells better than Doja’s outdoor/mixed-light, but the strain itself doesn’t have the legs people think it does.
