Next to review from Zaba Cannabis is their Rocket Z. An undisclosed candy cross. With the branding being truly innovative, referencing its name, packaged in a rocket. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by a nose tingling rush of syrupy candy, displaying a sweet infusion of guava, strawberry and cherry syrup, alongside light creamy, menthol and faint citrus undertones. The buds were of a medium to hard density and had a hybrid structure. They were a shade of light green, with outer hues of purple, harbouring attractive pink and violet guts, alongside rustic pistils and coated and home to a thick layer of shining trichomes.
Upon inhaling my palate was overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering a sweet syrupy candy infusion of cherries, guava and faint strawberries, alongside a creamy citrus and faint nutty, menthol earthiness. The taste of this sweet creamy syrup was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of dark grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both surprisingly smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, although producing one of the darkest shades of ash I have ever encountered, I must honestly say it surprisingly didn’t negatively affect how Rocket Z smoked (you know I wouldn’t hold back). Aside from an initial necessary bout of curing, I found it to smoke well, delivering a syrupy sweet candy, ticking most boxes – aside from the aesthetics, which unfortunately (not necessarily for me, if it smokes well) are a big driving factor on retail. With some further dialling definitely required, Rocket Z can only be further improved and hopefully remain a memorable candy on Zaba’s lineup, being worthy of the immense packaging.
