Fig Farms Animal Face (2023) Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review

Appearance: Like some fire green tree! It’s an assorted mix on lighter frosted greens mixed with the odd dark olive colored guard leaf. It is seriously resinous with an OG structure. The jar that I got consisted of a few smalls and one gigantic 2g+ top. It obviously has a super stacked kushy structure that is just classically beautiful to look at. This one may have no real “color” to speak of but that doesn’t mean I’m going to throw it out of my rotation. You don’t have to be purple to be pretty in my house! The breakdown was fluffy and almost sticky but not too much. Rolling this was pretty easy. Kept its form really well. Aroma: The nose is what sold me on this jar. The place I got it from always has open sample jars to smell and it was just so nice. This cultivar presents with a very complex but complimentary profile that I really enjoy. It has the foresty pinene scents coming through from the OG. The lemon pledge isn’t really present in this one but what does come through is almost this custardy vanilla sweetness. Aside from that it also presents this sour fermented papaya scent that is fresh and delicious. Taste: It starts off pretty OG forward. Sweet minty pine paints the palate pretty immediately. It goes more towards a sweet earthy direction leaning into the influence from that bubba in there. That’s accentuated by notes of sweet loamy soil, coffee grounds, and almost a slight pepperiness that isn’t unpleasant at all. That fruit from the nose pokes its head out right at the end. It’s not so much super sweet but more of a sour grapefruit type of musky flavor. There is a slight doughy gassy dimension to it but it so complex that part is more of an afterthought but it’s still nice. Effect: The shit is reeeaaally strong! I smoked about two joints to really get a measure of this gal but it just took me down like captain Ahab with a well placed harpoon. 🐋🔱 No joke this one is a slumper. Mentally I feel pretty clear in a very relaxed sort of way. Waves of heavy sedation take over as I melt into my couch. I was almost relaxed to stay put but then a bottomless pit of undying hunger awoken within my gullet. I had some leftover French toast chilin in the fridge and you put bet your sweet ass I threw that shmoe in the toaster oven and let er rip. 🤙 Now that my life is complete I feel like I’m content to relax enough to drift off to sleep. It’s pretty safe to say this is more of a post dinner pre sleep kinda flower but if you don’t have much planned you can use this if you want to induce a nap. 😴 Overall: I’ve loved Fig Farms for years and this one of the of the very few cultivars of theirs I haven’t tried yet. It was a choice between this and a recent batch of their Dark Karma and I choice this one because I was really feeling these kushy terps today and they totally delivered what I wanted. It was torrentially down pouring today and I made crock pot beef stew.🍲 This was th perfect flower to compliment all of that. 10/10 would buy again.
