Blues Qluez Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review (2024)
SMELL: 8.6/10
FLAVOUR: 8.5/10
SMOOTHNESS: 8.6/10
ASH APPEARANCE: 7.9/10
STRENGTH: 9.2/10
OVERALL SMOKE: 8.5/10
Having felt fairly neutral on Blues Qluez last year, I was interested to see how this living soil batch fared in comparison. Upon opening I instantly received a rush of a unique earthy and faintly spicy gas, displaying notes of skunk, fuel, faint peanuts and menthol. This pungent gassiness was complemented by inviting traits of sourly sweet blueberries. The buds were a medium density and had a hybrid structure. They were a medium shade of green with sporadic hues of light purple, with minimal rustic pistils and enriched with trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering a unique dominant Cookie and Project 4516 influenced gas, exhibiting earthy notes with subdued traits of menthol, fuel and peanuts infused with sourly sweet pungent blueberry undertones. The taste of this sweet influenced gas was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light silver, alongside a gushing and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean. To conclude I found this living soil batch of Blues Qluez to smoke exceptionally well, performing better than its predecessor. It exhibited its lineage effectively, ticking most boxes and with a little further dialling BQ will remain a classic staple of Grandiflora’s lineup.

Having had a small selection of Grandi Flora Genetics flowers, feeling predominantly neutral, I was excited to try the next on the list; Blues Qluez. Although in 2023 the genetics in question are not considered to be particularly exciting, BQ is still consisting of nice strains in their own right. Upon opening I instantly received a rush of pungent well balanced notes, consisting of sweet blueberries infused with cookies, alongside a Gelato influenced earthy gas displaying traits of Project 4516. The buds were not sightly, having a medium to soft density, being a dark colour consisting of green behind a layer of purple with matching guts. There were minimal orange hydroponic hairs, and whilst absolutely showered in trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was overcome by well balanced notes translating from the smell, delivering an infusion of a dominating Cookie and Project 4516 influenced gas, displaying chemical and earthy notes alongside sweet blueberry undertones. The combined taste of sweet cookies is retained with an earthiness upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light silver, alongside a gushing and oozing resinous oil ring, smoking both smooth and tasting clean. To conclude, although not my personal preferred flavour profile, and being deterred by the appearance, I can appreciate this cross and was actually pleasantly surprised with how clean it tasted and smoked, although a little dialling is still required on this one for a finer finish. I am glad I got to try BQ, however I currently still find Grandi Candi my favourite so far. Sticky Ricky, Rare Candi and Vodou are the next GFG up for review.
