Having thoroughly enjoyed Tasty Selection’s Yuzu, I was excited to now try out their Citron Lime. Being a first time collaboration between TS and two time grammy nominated artist Pyrex Whippa. Upon opening I received an aroma described perfectly by the cultivators themselves, primarily displaying fizzy notes of lime, reminiscent of the soda’s; 7up and Sprite, with subdued traits of the detergent Jiff. These refreshing notes, which are derived from it’s Zkittles parent, were complemented by a gentle Gelato gas with sweet and floral undertones, exhibiting the Sunset Sherbet and Gelato 33 lineage. The buds were of a medium to hard density, having a foxtail structure, being a shade of medium golden green, with layers of purple, alongside rustic pistils, and home to a river of trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by a complex blend of notes translating from the smell. Delivering a notable Gelato gas, infused with refreshingly zesty notes of carbonated lime and mixed grapes. Floral notes began to develop through combustion, complimented by a sugary sweet backend. These flavours complement each other favourably, delivering a zesty, sweet, floral gas, which is retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light silver, alongside an instantaneous leaking resinous oil ring, smoking both smooth and tasting clean. To conclude, although arriving with the taste and scent initially marginally impaired, (due to the logistical constraints of extreme hot weather and sitting in international transit) with some patient curing and TLC, Citron Lime managed to bounce back and deliver a refreshingly zesty, floral and sweet gas. It still finished ticking most boxes and smoked pleasantly well, I cannot wait to try this unique cross again at its full potential.
