With a majority of flowers from Rare Exotics smoking exceptionally well, I was excited to see how this interesting cross fared. With the branding referencing a citrus fruit from the Philippines. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by a faint but familiar floral creamy scent of Zkittles, with tangy and sour citrus undertones consisting of grapes and grapefruit, complementing a subdued earthiness with chemical and fuel traits. The buds were of a medium to hard density and had a hybrid and Zkittlez structure. They were a shade of medium green alongside messy rustic pistils and enriched in trichomes.

Upon inhaling my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering a floral and fragrant creamy infusion of faint citrusy grapefruit with sour grapes and cherries, alongside a chemical, fuel and piney gassiness. The taste of this faintly sweet creamy and sourly floral gas was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of light grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.

To conclude, I overall found Kalamanzi to deliver a fairly dry and subdued taste of Zkittles alongside light earthy and chemical undertones, unfortunately not being too heavy on the anticipated sweet profile. Despite this, it still smoked well and ticked most boxes. With further dialling in required, hopefully Kalamanzi can be further improved and remain a staple of the Rare Exotics lineup, catering to those who enjoy a touch of Zkittles with not too much sweetness.
