NC-17 Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review
Aroma: This has a very diverse terpene profile there’s a lot of nuanced scents. The first ones I smell are sour grapes, cherries and sugared pine. That is followed a thick undertone of French vanilla aged cedar and lastly some hints of nag champa incense. I really dig this scent because it has that nostalgic purple smell to me. It reminds me of old school purple kush from back in the day or some modern variant. I can’t smell any cookies in it at all which is very uncommon for todays market. I cracked jar open in my car and it still stinks the morning after. Appearance: The nugs I got were frosted little purple Christmas trees. Every surface I can see is coated with resin. There was a few forest green hints but it was mostly hues of blue and violet. The pistils were super thick like yarn with a pale orange coloration. The sample I got was packaged almost a month prior but still had a good moisture content and a decent trim. Taste: The flavor is super candy floral. Very similar to the smell for sure. I don’t know what the genetics are to this but it reminds me of gods gift a little bit from back in the day. There are definite Notes of lavender grapes vanilla with an herbal backend almost chai tea-ish. The smoke is pretty expansive. It doesn’t over expand your lungs but it definitely lets you know it’s there. Its burns clean and the ash is white. Effect: Definitely a classic purple. It Hits behind the eyes with a quickness! The joints in my knees and the for some reason the muscles in my feet are feeling relaxed. My eyes feel pretty heavy. It’s Pretty hard to focus on writing this review. All I want to do is space out and listen to some chill music and listen to the storm outside. This is perfect for sleep or just winding down from a long day. The munchies are pretty minimal for this one at least for me. This strain is definitely not super motivational so I wouldn’t recommend if you have anything to do like work. 😂 Overall: I took the plunge with this brand. It’s a bit on the high end but a bud tender I trust recommended it and I wanted to try something new. These cultivators are from LA and I’ve heard it’s all grown indoors using living soil. I don’t know if that’s true or not but the smell and flavor really were powerful. Not just that I’d almost bet money this NC-17 doesn’t have cookies in it. It reminds me of the purple kush I would get about 15 years ago. Pretty sure there’s some solid afghan genetics in this one. Now that I’ve found out they’re good I want to try their OG. 🤙Judah Terpson
