Red Velvet Series Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review
ASH APPEARANCE: 9/10
OVERALL SMOKE: 8.5/10
With this Red Velvet series pretty much having the same genetics as The Riddlah (the difference being a phenotype of Doggybag – #38), I felt pretty curious to see what the difference was, especially from the appearance, with the buds looking absolutely stunning in comparison. Upon opening I was greeted by a Gelato influenced chemical gas, with uniquely sweet but very hidden floral notes, consisting of subtle apples and blueberries. Amongst this already distinctive smell, there were nutty overtones, combined with notes of glue and rubber. Overall smelling predominately gassy with a faint sweet undertone, compared to its fruitier counterpart; The Riddlah. The buds looked stunning. They were of a hard density, and foxtail structure, with a predominantly purple layer sitting on top of a shade of medium green, alongside rustic hydroponic hairs, absolutely showered by a universe of trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was overcome by a heavy resinous gas, influenced by the Project 4516 and Grandi Flora Project genetics, displaying Kush and Gelato traits. Unlike The Riddlah, there were less noticeable sweet notes, leaving the overall flavour profile; E85 and Project 4516 dominant. The taste of heavy gas with a light sweet backend was retained upon exhaling, with nutty and sweet blueberry undertones. The joint produced ash being a shade of light to medium silver, alongside an instantly dripping and oozing resinous oil ring, smoking both smooth and tasting clean. Overall this was a nice flower. It definitely has a distinctive flavour only fans of gassy strains will appreciate, and (unfortunately for me) the Zkittles and LCG lineage does not prevail as much as anticipated in this phenotype. Aside from that, a little dialling in on the smoothness would help get this already great flower perfect. It ticked all the boxes, tasted very unique and is a complex cross to be appreciated.

I thought people smoke weed to get HIGH – the high is really all that matters. These reviews are USELESS for most of us. Drivel about clean burning, endless descriptions of the buds’ appearance, and flavor profiles and NOTHING at all about how this makes you feel.
