Having felt pretty neutral on Grandiflora’s 2023 release of Sticky Ricky, I was interested in seeing how the newly improved living soil rendition fared. Upon opening I instantly received a rush of a familiar unique scent, displaying musky, gassy and earthy notes with traits of chemicals, cream, peanuts and fuel, exhibiting its Gelato and E85 lineage effectively, accompanied by a floral and faintly sweet candy fragrant aroma. The buds were of a hard density and a hybrid structure.

They were a shade of medium to light green with sporadic hues of blue and violet, alongside short rustic pistils and absolutely showered in trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering a unique earthiness with traits of chemicals, menthol, fuel and peanuts, complemented by a floral sweet candy and creamy Gelato influence with faint notes of hazelnut, strawberries and cherries.

The taste of this mildly sweet distinctive gas was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light silver, alongside an instantaneous oozing and leaking resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.

To conclude, I found this living soil grown Sticky Ricky to be a vast improvement from its predecessor, delivering an enjoyable smooth and unique gassy profile, smoking pleasantly well and ticking most boxes. Although SR may not appeal to everyone, I personally could appreciate the distant E85 and DB genetics delivered and with a little further dialling in, it will remain a great staple of Grandiflora’s lineup.
