Zauce Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review
Appearance: This looks a lot like most Good batches of Z I’ve seen over the years. It has the classic soft green coloration contrasted by pale orange pistils that are accented by hues of violet on some of the bigger tops in my jar. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen glue but I’m guessing this denser structure is attributed to that part of the lineage. One thing I’ve noticed about Z dominant crosses is that the rosin is soft. It’s not an overtly sticky flower but barely handling the nugs you start to feel that soft sandy resin accumulate on your fingers. I milk all my flower and this one breaks down beautiful and fluffy. This one may not be some blacked out ice queen but I still appreciate its own distinctive beauty. Aroma: The profile on this starts off soft and creamy with strong notes of sour grapefruit, limes, and almost a piney lemon zest. Besides the sweetness it definitely has kind of an adhesive like layer to it that’s hard to describe. I guess the only way I make sense of this part of the smell is that it smells how it tastes when you lick an envelope. It’s comes in first with the Z but definitely finishes stronger in the glue territory. Based on the looks I thought this was going to be mostly Z terps but I’m glad that it actually has more complexity than that. At the end I’m picking up some cedar and French vanilla. It’s not a super crazy loud nose but it is pleasant to stick your nose in the jar. It actually made me sneeze after a little bit. Must be them terps trying to jump out of the jar and roundhouse my olfactory system! Taste/Smokeability: like the nose it’s comes through with that creamy Z flavor. The fruits I pick out are key limes, tart grapefruit and actually a little bit of maraschino Cherry. Aside from that fruity menagerie you get a thick taste of that glue. It’s like a syrupy adhesive type of flavor kind of akin to duct tape but not quite. This flower was super well cured. The smoke is really expansive but just so ridiculously smooth that it’s truly a pleasure to inhale. The texture of the smoke is almost velvety in my opinion. The roll I smoked had a solid white ash that stayed solid until about halfway and produces those thick drippy oil rings that everyone loves to flex. Effect: This shit is a cerebral powerhouse. Instantly my eyes feel super red and it also seems like I might have summoned an endless void in my stomach. It’s got the kind of mental pressure that I’ve been missing from a lot of modern cultivars. I know the glue craze is long over but you can’t doubt the potency of its effect when thrown into a lineage. I feel relaxed yet stimulated. Before I smoked the huge joint I rolled I was super tired and thought I’d muddle through this review but I’m pretty pretty alert for now. Aside from the mental effects it definitely relaxes the muscles in my shoulders and neck. Now that I’m all settled it’s definitely transitioning into more of a sleepy effect that has me ready to drift off and hope that my cat doesn’t bite my toes when I go to sleep. Overall: I haven’t tried a lot of Sherbinski flower but when I have I’ve been impressed. For a higher priced brand their quality control is enjoyably on point. My friend/Budtender Bryce at the shop near my work recommended this flower and I’m glad I took his advice because this one is total package of flavor, nose, and effect. Would definitely try again.Judah Terpson
