Northern Emeralds ’91 GMO Cannabis CUltivar (“Strain”) Review

Aroma: 3/5
You get the funk, just not that slap-in-the-face GMO gas I expected. It leans more Wedding Cake than Chem or real-deal GMO. Loudness was mid — smell was clean, just not hitting like the name said it would.
Breakdown: 2.5/5
Solid nug structure, sticky enough to roll but not greasy. Frosty and clean, trimmed nice. Broke down well — just wish the nose came through heavier in the grind.
Taste: 2.5/5
This is where it lost me. Expected that loud dirty garlic funk. Instead, it pulled more like a sweet limonene light bake with a hint of fuel. Smooth burn, but way too tame. Should’ve had way more punch.
High: 2.5/5
Light buzz. Head change was there but mellow and short. Was hoping for that couch glue GMO slap. Didn’t get it. Not a session killer. Just… meh.
Duration: 2.5/5
40 minutes tops. Didn’t build, didn’t stretch. Faded quick. Felt more like a hybrid breeze than a heavy-hitter indica.
Overall: 2.5/5
Looked good. Smelled decent. Smoked clean. But this ain’t it if you’re chasing that true GMO experience. Disrespectful to even call it ’91 GMO — none of that deep garlic skunk that makes GMO what it is. Coming off Northern Emeralds’ Durban Poison, this felt like a major drop off. Sad to say but this one just didn’t live up to the name or the hype
