Subzero Cannabis Cultivar (“Strain”) Review

Aroma•
Subzero follows its name pretty well as it smells like cold blueberry candy mixed with some earthiness. The “cold” aroma is kind of like menthol but heavily balanced out by the sweet earthiness. Breaking down the nugs a sharper and robust profile comes out enhancing the cold blueberry candy aroma. Overall impressive with good complexity of aromas.

Palate•
When it comes to the flavor and smoke, Subzero provided a mediocre experience that could have done way better. It had sort of had an earthy exhale but it just kind of got smokey and not flavorful. The exhale also had a little bit of harshness which was disappointing.

Effects•
Subzero has a great balance of effects while leaning a tiny bit towards the Indica side. Starting with the head high, it’s a relaxed one that brings on medium pressure around the head while having my eyes feeling tired with medium eyelid sag. The body high has medium sedation with a very relaxed and tranquil vibe. The munchies is a very prominent side effect for this strain as I felt my stomach eager to put food in it. With all the relaxation Subzero still provides a decent amount of focus and motivation to be productive or work on, but with that said that’s after one or two hits, more than that and the relaxation will get heavier. I was still able to stay awake and be productive so it depends on your tolerance.

Overall•
I’m glad I got to try something from Ball Family Farms and this Subzero wasn’t too bad, just the flavor really hurt its grade. I think if the terps came out on the flavor profile it would have been a game changer. Moving forward, the aroma and especially the effects did not disappoint. The aroma follows the “Subzero” name which is always nice, hate when strain names don’t match their profile at all. Lastly but most definitely not least, the effects were my favorite part of this smoke. It provided me with so much versatility to do whatever I needed to get done at that time. I do recommend trying this strain and I’m looking forward to seeing what else this brand has. Cheers 💨
