I posted a video on my Insta (@bitemepodcast if you’re so inclined) asking people about their favourite cannabis infused beverages. Notably, many people responded with the name Tea Pot. This stood out to me for a few reasons:
- This was not the first time I’d had people recommend Tea Pot to me in the last 6 months.
- A fellow Certified Ganjier worked on the very formulation I’m reviewing today.
- I couldn’t get it at my preferred local dispensary. I say preferred because my small city of 100,000 people boasts 15+ dispensaries, which is about double the number of Tim Horton’s.
So I reached out as one does and Tea Pot sent me a selection of beverages for me to try because obviously I’m a person of clout. (Actually that is not true but I do have a penchant for edibles and infused drinks).
I eagerly cracked open the first can to find out what the fuss was about and immediately understood why Tea Pot has been named by so many people as a beverage of choice. Produced by Boston Brewing, the company responsible for Twisted Tea, these folks understand creating drinks for mass appeal. It was even rated Best New Product of 2023 by Canadian Consumers.
This particular flavour is a lightly flavoured forward single strain mango green iced tea. It has a lovely balance of the mango which paired delightfully with the herbaceous green tea. Did I mention zero aftertaste of any kind?
What I particularly enjoyed was that it was not too sweet as many iced teas can be as they compensate for low quality ingredients. While not a low sugar option, it offer 5mg of THC which can make it sessionable depending on your tolerance. For someone like myself I could consume a few of these on a lovely afternoon while my friends were getting day drunk and later regretting their choices.
I’m not a big iced tea drinker I would definitely buy this again once I convince my local weed shop to carry it.
Well done Tea Pot.
