Having thoroughly enjoyed the “Dirty” counterpart of Deepeast’s Guava, I was excited to try this original Cherry Kush variant. With attractive branding displaying cherry and guava emojis. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by an uplifting sweet rush of cherries and guava, complemented by subtle notes of cookies, menthol and pine, with remnants of marzipan. The buds were of a medium density and had a hybrid structure. They were a shade of medium green, with a coat of dark purple and almost white thick trichomes, accompanied by rustic pistils.
Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering earthy notes of cookies with floral Sherbet and cream accents, complemented by sweet cherry and uplifting guava undertones. The taste of this sweetened cherry Cookies was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, despite producing a darker than expected shade of ash, I overall found Guava to deliver its genetics effectively, exhibiting a cherry and guava dominant Cookies profile. It smoked well, ticking most boxes and with a little further dialling in required, can be further improved and remain a classic staple of Deep East’s lineup.
