Cultivar Review: Trilogy by Emerald Spirit Botanicals

For true connoisseurs, there’s nothing quite like trying new and unusual things. Our favorite 🌱 gives us infinite opportunities in this regard, but there are some folks and farms that are driven to explore further than most. #emeraldspiritbotanicals for example, is doing very innovative work with Type II 🌸 and creating incredible profiles that deliver very nuanced, useful experiences. This particular cultivar takes a classic terpinolene-forward s a t i v a profile and adds T H C V & C B G to the party, so let’s get into the details…

Trilogy Cannabis Cultivar (“Strain”) Review

Appearance: trichome coverage and protection are ridiculously good. This is a great cultivar for the #farmcut concept, because bud leaves are minimal and small. Maturity and cure are great.

Aroma: Pine, paint thinner, mint, cocoa powder, lime, rose petal, camphor, tea tree oil…there’s a lot going on. York Peppermint Patties anyone? Fuel/Earth/Fruit/Floral.

Flavor: The dry hit brings that peppermint patty thing along with rubber, lime and pine. The 💨 carries the rubber note & flirts with being skunky. Grapefruit, pickled ginger and forest mulch add complexity. Exhales are defined by fruit and gas notes. Guava & racquetballs, shifting to kumquat later. This has good detail, complexity, progressive flavor delivery and longevity.

Experience: This hits like a T H C dominant s a t i v a because, it is. It gets behind the eyeballs before you finish burning and can make you forget that it’s Type II if you get carried away with dosage. The initial rush is quite stoney & head-oriented, but leads to a long period (hours) of boosted clarity, focus, energy and mood. Here’s the exciting part: Both C B G & T H C V have shown promising antidepressant qualities & their presence in this cultivar could make it an option for consumers that find this type of profile too racy or anxiety-inducing in a Type I scenario.
