Double Tap Strain Review

This strain is interesting visually. The GG#4 dominates the genetics in terms of appearance, however the influence from the black banana is evident when looking at the deep mauve coloration on the leaves of some of the nugs. Intricate stitchings of orange hairs cris-cross each nug with a very light frosting of trichromes over the top of everything. 👀 Aroma-wise, this strain is different than I expected. I was thinking I would get sour and sweet notes from the crossing, however what I was met with upon opening the jar each time was more of a smooth earthy smell undercut by a deep chocolate, almost hazelnut, aroma. I would describe it as a warm and welcoming scent. The taste is really complex on this one, as a result of which I had a hard time pinning it down. I get smooth and very mild sour and earth terps during the initial inhale, followed by a very deep chocolate taste rounded out with a bit of mint. I found myself smacking my lips and really trying to understand and appreciate the taste in each hit. 🍫 The strain broke up and smoked really well. The buds were soft and fluffy to the touch and produced a very minor level of kief when grinding. I found the strain extremely smooth both in terms of smoke quality and in terms of the way it burned in joints. The high felt really balanced, maybe leaning a little bit more towards cerebral and energizing, while still packing a punch. I would say this is a good all day smoke. 🫁 All in all, I’d rate this strain as a, “buy and smoke with friends,” strain. I really conceptualize this stain as Gorilla Glue dominant with some Black Banana influences, so it excels in the same areas that GG4 does. Visuals, smells, and the way it smoked were all good, but the coolest part of this strain, to me, is the flavor profile because it was unique. Rosebud Growers have a lot of phenomenal strains out, so, as always, id definitely recommend checking their stuff out.
