Although not personally being too overly enthusiastic on grape dominant strains, with this being one of Life Is Not Grape’s flagship flowers, I was interested to see how the infamous Grape Depression fared. Upon opening I instantly received a rush of sour grapes and distant creamy citrusy oranges, complemented by notes of sugary strawberries and cherries, with chemical undertones. The buds were of a very hard density and had a boulder structure.

They were a shade of medium to light green with sporadic hues of light purple, alongside rustic pistils and absolutely enriched in trichomes. Upon inhaling my palate was instantly overcome by notes translated from the smell, delivering dominant sour grapes infused with subdued sweet cherries and berries, accompanied by a creamy earthiness with faint citrusy orange and spicy traits, reminiscent of MAC. The taste of this distinctive grape dominant creamy gas was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling.

The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light grey, alongside an instantaneous dripping and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.

To conclude, although with the grape profile not being overly to my personal taste preference, I found Grape Depression to deliver its lineage effectively, exhibiting a strong sour and mildly sweet grape dominance, with remnants of a creamy Starfighter lineage (MAC, Cookies N Cream, etc). It smoked fairly well, ticking most boxes and with some further dialling in required will remain a distinctive staple of Life Is Not Grape’s lineup, being a great choice for fans of grape dominant strains.
