Overall feeling satisfied with most of the recent drops from BB and EB, I was interested to be able to try their cross of Exodus Cheese and Zkittles. Being a similar cross to strains; Nachoz and Zheetos (which instead use Cheese Diesel and OZK x Big Buddha Cheese respectively). Gucci Cheez comes with branding being similar to its Louis Z counterpart, referencing a famous designer brand. On this occasion being Gucci. Upon opening I instantly received a rush of unique aromas, primarily displaying notes reminiscent of old school pungent skunk, accompanied by musty and light sourly citrus undertones, paying homage to its memorable Exodus Cheese lineage. This overpowering odour was complemented by faint notes of sweet grapefruit and cream (which is not as dominant as in Nachoz and Zheetos). The buds were of a medium to hard density, having a combined foxtail and boulder structure, being a shade of medium green with very minimal purple hues, alongside extremely light coloured rustic hydroponic hairs, and showered in trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was greeted by a gentle gas with partial sweet undertones, displaying notes of an old school skunk essence infused with a highly subdued grapefruit backend. This already faint mix of flavours dissipate further through combustion, which seem to burn too hot, therefore hindering the smoothness upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of light silver, alongside an oozing and dripping resinous oil ring, smoking both partially smooth and clean. To conclude, unfortunately I found the taste of Gucci Cheez subdued, with the combination of strains not as apparent as eagerly anticipated. In addition, a burning sensation was noted upon exhaling. Other strains I have reviewed by EB and BB ticked most boxes, so its unfortunate to say Gucci Cheez wasn’t as successful, still requiring further work. I would love to see a Blue Cheese cross.
