Strain Review: Lemon Splash by Rosebud Growers

Lemon Splash has solid bag appeal. It’s characterized by dense nugs that are mostly neon green with some slightly darker leafage here and there. Golden yellow trichromes are speckled all across the surface, while sparse orange hairs appear in small dots here and there. Breaking open a bud reveals a dense blanket of wet-looking, golden-orange trichromes that coat the inside. 🤩
The nose on Lemon Splash is exciting and enticing. The initial smell is sweet, sugary lemon, like a lemonhead, however closer inspection reveals piney and creamy layers. There are some earthy notes, as well. The smell slightly burns the nose when taking a wiff due to the strength of the terpene profile. Grinding or breaking up a bud enhances the sweet, lemony profiles of the smell and adds a gassy quality to the overall aroma. 🍋
The taste on the Lemon Splash is just as appealing as the smell, if not more so. It’s lemony, citrusy, and creamy, first and foremost. It’s also got a significant layer of pine, as well as small notes of mint. The exhale highlights more of the sweet notes that aren’t as prominent on the inhale. It kind of reminds me of a lemon milk tea with boba. Whatever your interpretation is, it’s a tasty smoke all the way down. 💦
The high on Lemon Splash is immediately prominent. I felt like I had a warm, pillowy vice grip squeezing my head in the sweetest way. I also experienced a spaced out feeling, but I was able to focus and work as needed. The flower smokes and burns perfectly when rolled and produces a very minor amount of kief when grinding. 😶🌫️
Overall, Lemon Splash is a really great strain. If the Lumpy Space Princess was a sour kick in the face, the Lemon Splash is more like a smooth ocean washing over you. For Lemon Splash, the bag appeal is pretty standard, but the smell, taste, and high excel. It’s a unique presentation. I have been thoroughly impressed pretty much every time I have picked up from Rosebud, so I would definitely give their flower a look. Picked up at @naturalremportland 🔥
