Strain Review: Limonata 7UP by Mamey’s Bodega

From thoroughly enjoying the Cherry 7up series, I was excited to try it’s Limonata counterpart. Boasting an exciting lineage, being a unique cross of an undisclosed strain, along with LCG and Bahama Mama Milk. With the branding referencing the popular refreshing fizzy lemon and lime beverage. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by a pungent Gelato and Cookies gas with cream and chemical traits, alongside sour notes of lemon. This welcoming gas was complemented by sweetly subdued bubblegum and candy undertones with notes of cherries and plums. The buds were of a medium to hard density, having a hybrid structure. They were a shade of light green, behind an extremely thick layer of almost white trichomes with sporadic messy rustic pistils. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell. Delivering an earthy chemical gas with sour and fizzy overtones of lemon, with hints of spice, cream and pine. This distinctive gas was complemented by undertones of subtle sweet candy, with this gassy dominance retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of light grey, alongside an instantaneous absolutely leaking and gushing resinous oil ring. It smoked relatively smooth and tasted clean. To conclude, I found Limonata 7up overall to be a fairly average candy cross, delivering a unique spicy and sour citrusy pungent gas, complemented by a mild candy. Some of the exciting crosses disclosed unfortunately did not make their presence as apparent as anticipated, however it ticked most boxes, and with some further dialling in required, Limonata 7up will hopefully stand strong next to it’s impressive Cherry counterpart and be a great staple to Mamey’s lineup.
