Due to it’s long lasting therapeutic effects, this potent indica has remained one of the most highly coveted medical marijuana strains for decades. With dozens of new hybrids hitting the shelves every year, finding a genuine heirloom or landrace strain these days is becoming quite a rarity. However, thanks to master growers like Bend Bud Company here in Oregon, we can still find some of these ancient beauties in dispensaries around the state! Weighing in over twenty-two percent THC, this old dog can still run with the young, potent hybrids of today! Right out of the jar, I was hit with a sharp orange-citrus and peppery-cinnamon aroma. Because it was crossed with the original 1970s Skunk, this spicy-citrus phenotype tested higher in Limonene and Caryophyllene but lower in Myrcene. With just a half rotation of the grinder, these vibrant green nugs disintegrated into a fine powder and quickly filled the room with that classic kush scent! After my first exhale, the citrus tones took a back seat and gave way to that classic spicy-earth flavor reminiscent of old school hash. I was quickly greeted by a pleasant body high that started in the chest and slowly flowed outward through my limbs. As it obliterated every small pain and tension in my body, I was surprised with how relatively clear-headed and long lasting the effects were. My perception of depth felt greatly enhanced and the colors of the world seemed incredibly vivid. Because of it’s ability to relax the mind and ease tension, in smaller doses I’d recommend Master Kush for social occasions as well as deeper mind-body activities like yoga and meditation. In higher doses, my whole body felt pleasantly numb and left me totally couchlocked and ready for bed. So if you’re looking to take the edge off and lay waste to any stress you’ve accumulated throughout the day, you gotta try this Master Kush!
