Having previously enjoyed this classic strain from Don Merfos, I was interested to see how it fared many years later. With the branding having changed over time, now portraying a skeleton wearing traditional Mexican attire and themed on music. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by a familiar candy aroma, delivering sugary sweet notes of cherries and strawberries, alongside notes of strong fizzy lemon citrus infused with a gentle earthy Gelato gas, complemented by light sour traits with pine and chemicals.
The buds were of a mixed density and had a hybrid structure. They were a shade of medium to light green with sporadic hues of of purple, with attractive pink and purple guts, behind a thick layer of almost white trichomes, with messy rustic pistils. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by a citrusy candy, exhibiting a syrupy sweet infusion of cherries and strawberries, alongside sharp carbonated citrusy lemon overtones, with a floral Gelato earthiness and traits of sour chemicals.
The taste of this fairly citrusy sour candy was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling.The joint produced ash being a shade of light grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring.
It smoked both smooth and tasted clean. To conclude, I overall found Super Runtz to deliver an enjoyable candy profile with distinctive citrus and sour undertones, smoking greater than ever. With a little further dialling in, SR can only be further improved and remain a classic staple of Don Merfos’s candy lineup.
