Having thoroughly enjoyed all of Humboldt Beginning’s flowers so far, I was excited to try their classic Real OG. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by a familiar scent of chemicals, citrus and refreshing pine with remnants of rubber and menthol, infused with a light creamy earthiness and faintly floral infusion of caramelised onions.

The buds were of a medium to hard density and had a typical OG structure. They were a shade of medium to light green, barely visible behind a thick coat of trichomes, alongside messy rustic pistils. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by an in-depth gassy earthiness with dominant traits of pine and chemicals, infused with caramelised onions and faintly sweet creamy floral notes. The taste of this enjoyable OG was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling.

The joint produced ash being a shade of light grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.

To conclude, I overall found The Real OG to deliver an enjoyable old school OG profile with distinctive faintly sweet and floral traits. It smoked pleasantly well, ticking most boxes and with a little further dialling in, can only be further improved and remain a distinctive staple of the Humboldt Beginning’s lineup.
