π: The look on this when I cracked the jar was really nice, it opened up to a wet, creamy off white color. The texture was on point too with a smooth, easy to scoop consistency especially after giving it a little whip.
The jar art was dope as well. The top sticker had βReal Deal Resinβ on it with a cool design and in that classic font they always use, but this time with βValley Groveβ underneath since itβs a collab. The wraparound label stood out with a design featuring a goddess draped in a robe that reads βInvictus Sol β Unconquered Sunβ, with a colorful sun also on the wraparound. I saw @realdeal mention to someone that it was inspired by the Roman worship of the Sun God Sol Invictus, which is a cool touch. I always like creative jar art and this one definitely was. 8.9/10
π: The smell on this one honestly caught me off guard, it wasnβt what Iβd typically expect from a Tropaya jar. The nose wasnβt true to the name; instead of that loud tropical zesty sweet papaya punch, it came off pretty light and faint.Β It was more of a subtle sweet, fruity vibe with just a touch of funk that wasn’t loud at all. The aroma was honestly just muted and hard to get much of a nose out of it which was a bit underwhelming. 7.8/10
π : The taste on this one didnβt really line up with what id expect from a Tropaya jar just like the nose. The terp profile tasted nothing like the tropical citrus and heavy papaya influence youβd expect. Instead, it had a light, airy sweetness that came off close to terp less, with a faint earthy note on the backend. Definitely not what I was expecting or looking for some folks might enjoy the more quiet terp profile, but it just wasnβt for me I did appreciate that. 8/10
Overall: This was a solid jar from @real and Valley Grove and was actually my first time trying anything from Valley Grove, and it wasnβt bad at all. I grabbed it mainly because of the Tropicana x Papaya cross, expecting a tropical terp smoothie, but unfortunately, it didnβt deliver on that.
It checked most of the boxes no doubt with just the smell and taste being not true to its name. To me the jar didnβt capture that tropical sweetness or papaya I was hoping for, which made the experience a little underwhelming.
My favorite aspect was probably the appearance with that off white, super clean look and cool Roman jar art. The jar was still solid but if Iβm being honest, the jar just didnβt wow me. I think my expectations were too high, but this one didnβt quite hit the mark for me personally. Still, I think a lot of people would enjoy it, but I donβt think I would grab it again.Β
