Vape Review: EFEX Oils HEAL Disposable Vaporizer

To me, vape pens are one of the more efficient ways to medicate when you’re on the go – which is why I am reviewing an EFEX oils disposable vaporizer. Whenever I’m at a dispensary, I’ll check out the local vaporizer selection with a keen eye for prices and quality but I still end up with many of the same questions: Should I go disposable or not disposable? What about refillable? Choices make me anxious and frazzled and indecision affects my mood just as much as indisposition. Good thing though, EFEX claims to be able to change your mood in 3 seconds or less. Think Smoodies from Bojack. These prefilled and disposable vape pens come with a 500ml tank and a no button, suck-and-go activation design. The form factor is small – it fits in one hand and weighs next to nothing. EFEX has different flavors/mood settings ranging from HEAL, LUST, to ACTIVE, SOCIAL, CHILL, and DREAM. I tried the HEAL flavor EFEX cannabis oil vape first (and the DREAM (REST) one in a different review). The breakdown of the 500ml cartridge was 50% THC, 10% CBD, and 40% terpenes. They say it is vanilla and mint flavored so my guess is that the added terpenes are mostly Guaiacol (vanilla) and β-Myrcene (minty). This product is meant to “reduce inflammation” and “ease pain.” EFEX specifically says that “HEAL creates a total body euphoric feeling.” Well shit, that’s exciting.

Efex Oils Portable Vaporizer (Vape Pen) Review

How is the packaging?

Amount ingested:

One puff

How does the EFEX oil pen hit?

OK, I’ll admit that it does take 3 seconds to inhale and that’s it. Realistically, I personally prefer holding in the vapor for another 3 seconds at least, though I’ve definitely seen people go straight up in and out on a particularly large hit. I personally don’t recommend that as it’s… less efficient.

How does it taste?

I can taste the mint but not so much the vanilla. Beware: if you pull too long what you’ll taste is a little bit of burnt cotton from the coil. If you get a proper hit it’ll have a lemon-y aftertaste like breathing out after a drink of cold Sprite.

How long until activation?

Less than 10 minutes. I started feeling it around 5 minutes in.

How long does it last?

Right around the hour mark, my focus started to dim and I could tell I was starting to come off of the high.

How does it feel?

This particular combo is a creeper for sure. A two stage creeper. I first noticed the head high, and then about 20 minutes in I also started to notice a strong body high. I didn’t have any prior pain to dull with this particular puff; however, I can easily see how I might forget about my body’s pains and instead focus on hunger pangs.

What I like about it:

OK, I’ll admit that it does take 3 seconds to inhale and that’s it. Realistically, I personally prefer holding in the vapor for another 3 seconds at least, though I’ve definitely seen people go straight up in and out on a particularly large hit. I personally don’t recommend that as it’s… less efficient. These pens, honestly, imitate a flower high very well. There was a period of time when I was buying vape pens without any re-added terpenes and the THCa only high is quite noticeably different and one dimensional compared to this. EFEX has a pen for every mood, and they even have suggested usage situations. For the HEAL pen that I have, the suggestion is: DO Use when you want mild to moderate relief naturally. DON’T Use before a social event, as the effects might not be ideal in those situations.

What I don’t like about it:

No button vapes that activate when you pull on them are nice in theory and allow noobs to use without messing things up… However, it also makes it impossible to take a “dry” hit. I can’t be the only person that takes puffs without activating their pen right? efex oils dead penRealistically, no matter which of the mood pens that you buy – you’re going to end up with one mood by the end of it: ANGER. The battery on the EFEX pen will run out when you still have ½ or â…“ of a cartridge of oil left. Since it’s an all-in-one unit, there’s no readily apparent way to even salvage the oil. Usually, such defects are handled by the dispensary that you bought the items from. If you have a defective vape pen, you can usually bring it into the shop and get a replacement of the same brand. When I went back to the same dispensary that I got these from (Kush Factory)… they had stopped stocking these particular items due to feedback and thus were unable to give me a replacement. Take that for what you will.

Conclusion:

All in all, this is my favorite EFEX pen and a good example of why THCa % isn’t all that I should be caring about when I choose my THC vape cartridge. EFEX oil pens are cost effective at $12 if you can find a shop that carries them. Website: https://www.efexoils.com/ Cost: $12 @ Kush Factory (no longer in stock) States available in: California

    • Ask your local dispensary! I was able to find this in multiple shops in Southern California.
