Garlic Cocktail Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review
Appearance: It looks like some like frosted over crazy ass GMO pods. 😂 One of the nugs has this crazy purple blueish hue to it that makes it look pretty alien. The growth structure of GMO and its crosses is always just so funky looking but aesthetically pleasing at the same time. The jar I got was very pretty fresh with a great moisture content. The flowers were kind of gluey/sappy. I did notice some stringing when I pulled one of the smalls apart. The Greener nug almost looked more resinous. It had some darker olive green guard leaves to accent some of the lighter lime colors. The pistils were kind of sparse with a pale rusty hint to them. The funny think about the growth of these nugs is that a few of them look like they’re flipping you off. 🖕 Aroma: Like all GMO and her progeny this girl STANK! It’s smells like someone through some chunks of garlic along with some truffles poured some OJ over it in a blender and let her rip. It’s a really strange blend of sweet and savory that I really enjoy. It’s almost has this umami type flavor it. I can detect hints of seaweed and almost a buttery essence that kind of evolves in a sugary sweet pine that rounds out with some candied clementines. You can pull out some of that garbage juice funk from the GMO. My girlfriend dislikes it but I really enjoy this more funky profiles as they seem to have more depth which this one has in spades. Taste/Smokeability: I think this is one of the things I like about this strain the most. Is that a small almost directly translates into the taste. Unlike the smell the flavor is more mimosa forward. It has a sweet, fresh squeezed orange juice essence that really stains the palate. A buttery black garlic flavor coats the back of the tongue after the citrus is done washing over it. At the end I really taste the chem dog in there with a little astringency. The smoke is nice and thick but it’s really smooth with pretty minimal expansion. The ash stacks white and beautiful. This joint is just dripping in oil. I’m more than half way through the joint at this point in the review and its flavor is just still just kicking just as strong as when I first lit it. Top marks in the taste department. It’s no wonder this one is commonly found in extract form because those terps are just 🤌🏻 Effect: Well this shit kicks harder than a Tijuana mule trained by no other than Chuck Norris himself. With the genetics you’d think it would be a 50/50 hybrid and it almost feels that way but it leans heavy in the effect department towards the GMO. My eyes are droopy and I am ready for bed. This strain has that mind numbing pressure that I kind of associate with chem. It’s that kind of oppressive weed high that I really like because it’s a presence that’s easily felt. There’s no need to wonder if you’re high enough after smoking this. This gal gets you there. It does give a bit of cotton mouth but that’s no big deal. It’s a decent trade off because it’s really strong medicine. This has pretty noticeable muscle relaxing properties. It also works as an effective mood elevator. Overall: This strain is one of my favorite flavors of all time honestly. I love GMO and mimosa so of course I was bound to love their baby. It’s pungent, potent, stanky, and sassy. It’s a plant with a loud spirit and a strong medicine. I have tried THC design a handful of times and have always been impressed by their quality. This is just a prime example of what great cultivators are capable of. 🤙Judah Terpson
