Event Review: Kind Bud Campout 2022 was a 6* hash event

This past July 9th, 2022, I had the pleasure of attending the Kind Bud Campout as a seed sponsor. It was held at the historic Wavy Gravy’s Black Oak Ranch just off the 101 north of Laytonville, CA. I learned a lot about the history of the location and the slew of events that call that ranch home. I met so many attendees, presenters, and vendors and had a good ol’ hashy time. I arrived at this event with a singular goal in mind.
  1. Christen my new three hole hash bubbler from Maren Faye Glass at the hash bar.
Luckily, the crew at the Heritage Hash booth was more than willing to teach me how to use this delectable piece of art.

My first hash bar

The hash bar bar was a sturdy board put on two oak barrels with umbrellas to provide shade all day. Ispire, a fellow sponsor of The Kind Bud Campout left two charged up rigs, and event staff were swapping charged devices when needed. The hash brands at the event left samples at the hash bar which were available for anyone to sample. Honey Butter held it down. Tall Tree Society did as well. I brought some Cannam Gardens to share. At the on site cannabis sales, Heritage Hash and Martyjuana(TM) rounded out the rest of the hash providers. You could buy product and consume it right there. How far times have come. Flowers from these brands and others including Nurturing Seed were available as well. Legal cannabis sales at these events are one part of the more nascent side of cannabis culture. For the more time honored way of finding smoke while on the ranch, I saw one attendee walking around handing out whole untrimmed branches to anyone that wanted some. Needless to say, I wanted some and that was some delicious Rose Kush.

Truly educational panels

Between the forum with Cherry Blossom Belle, getting to meet Tony of Terpene Flash Cards, hearing a Ganjier presentation in person for the first time, and the Cannamaste ceremony – the speakers were top notch. The vendors were, as well! I had a blast hanging with the Veterans Walk and Talk reps and I felt it was an all around great event.

Music to me ears

This was the first time that I heard the wailer voice. I enjoyed the music from the hash bar, from my van, and from the audience. It wasn’t too loud and it ended up serving as a lullaby to bring the event to a pleasant close for me. Don’t miss the event next year, and do note that MCRE Events has been seeking and attaining cannabis vending permits for other events around the Mendocino area. If you are a licensed cannabis brand that would like to vend at an event like Hog Farm Hideaway or Days Between, do reach out to Karen! Editor’s note: Bubble hash is commonly graded from 1* to 6*.
