Next to review from Rare Exotics is their latest OG counterpart, Sour Densuke. With a classic but interesting cross of Sour Diesel, Jet Fuel OG and Watermelon OG. With the branding referencing the worlds most expensive watermelon, selling at a staggering $23,000, grown exclusively on the island of Hokkaido, in Japan. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by a sour OG scent with unique dominant aromas, delivering the usual notes of chemicals, fuel and pine, however with sourly sweet tangy undertones, displaying its Sour Diesel and Watermelon OG lineage. The buds were of a hard density and had a hybrid structure. They were a shade of light green, alongside messy rustic pistils and hme to a universe of gleaming trichomes.
Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering notes of chemicals and diesel, with faint undertones of watermelon, sour grapefruit and pine. The taste of this unique sour OG cross was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of light grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean. To conclude, I overall found Sour Densuke to deliver a unique tasting sour OG profile with an enjoyable light watermelon background, exhibiting its lineage effectively. It smoked pleasantly well, ticking most boxes and with minimal dialling in, can only be further improved and remain a distinctive and strong staple of the Rare Exotics lineup, catering to enthusiasts of sour and OG strains in particular.
