SCCA and MCA joined to celebrate Holiday Harvest 2023 with fundraiser for Origins Council
This past Saturday night, the Sonoma County Cannabis Alliance (SCCA) joined with the Mendocino Cannabis Alliance (MCA) to host a Holiday Harvest celebration at Blue Ridge Kitchen event space in Sebastopol, CA. Industry members and community supporters gathered for an evening of live music, comedy, a special award, and general festivities to end the year and kick off a break that most farmers get. How much of a break? Guess it dep-ends.
The event was put together thanks to the event organizers and sponsors.

A Holiday Harvest Celebration Story
It’s unfortunate to see cannabis consumption have to be relegated to a separate property entirely as alcohol sales were ongoing at the event, but it’s understandable given the current regulations and it’s nice to see workable solutions emerge even in a legal quagmire. The smoking section is where I spent most of my time. For me personally, the highlight was running into a THC featured extract reviewer: Ernie the Extract_Reviewer and getting to utilize the Emerald Farm Tours and Cannabis Bar Services bar to have a once in a lifetime sesh with Extract Reviewer and Heritage Hash’s Steve Morninglory. That Shrimp n Grits was tasty, too! Besides that, the event served as a chill fundraiser and gathering for two neighboring counties’ cannabis alliances. This was done through a silent auction featured everything from a truckload of soil, which the top bidder at the time said he was very excited to potentially win. I myself couldn’t resist a High Art collection from a local, ongoing cannabis-inspired art competition in California called High Art. Proceeds went to benefit Origins Council and cannabis advocacy work. The comedy set by TWENTY TWENTY FOUR METHFEST HOST, Ngiao Bealum tickled many a funny bone, and warmed the outside area with body jolting laughter. Music by Erica Ambrin was also very chill. The formal festivities culminated with Emerald Cup steward Tim Blake receiving a custom 3D printed award from SCCA’s Lauren Mendelsohn for all he has done for the community. Posting on Instagram, Blake commented on Instagram how thrilled he was to receive the award:“It was a joy filled holiday gathering of MCA and SCCA members. I was bestowed this one a kind piece of art as an award for my years of service to our community. I was humbled and stoked. Activists put a lot of time in and they don’t get paid beans. It’s a selflessness labor of love. Hats off to all the people over the decades who’ve sacrificed their time and lives for our community.“
