The bulk of the work is up front. I set up a 5 gallon and a ½ gallon in one day with one hour of time. Thereafter, I spent less than 5 minutes watering each day and that’s been it. I started the provided seeds but due to user error aka an unexpected trip – only one survived. That dosidos autoflower grew up in the 1 gallon pot and despite its rough childhood, the warm environ in which it found itself encompassed soon allowed it to grow. This was my very first autoflower grow and the variations in leaf growth and internodal structure and branching are enough to get me hooked. By the time my little cannabis bonsai started flowering, I realized that I had made a labeling mistake and the seed that sprouted was in fact the Durban Poison autoflower. I was so happy, I did a little jig and sang my plant a happy song. It may or may not have been by Pharrell.
My total yield turned out to be a handful of grams, but that was due to post processing issues stemming from higher than anticipated humidity and an extended absence. Going through the stereotypical firsttimer’s autoflower grow experience just reinforced my thought that a Pot for Pot is useful.

I blessed one unknown gender Filipino x Brother’s Keeper from The Seedery with this home and it became a monster – outdwarfing all of my other plants and all of its siblings. I just wanted to see what would come about, and was fully anticipating collecting pollen from the plant but it ended up forming brilliant buds, which were open air pollinated by males nearby.
I had such a fun time seeing this giant complete its life cycle. I did not chop until the plant started dying on its own.
I got hundreds of seeds for next year, and for my homies who are also hunting Asian landraces.
The kit comes with materials for making IPM sprays if they’re needed. Knock on wood, I haven’t needed them. I noticed many predator insects on my plants and I’m very happy with them making a home on my plant. For my personal grow, I might consider using the 5 gallon to house two sisters next year. Look, it is exactly what it is. What you see is what you get. Advanced growers can work this into their grow but they’ll end up throwing certain things out or making certain mods or buying quantity elsewhere for cheaper. For the ever-growing homegrow market though? This is the perfect and dare I say natural first step for the type of grower that is curious on doing a dare-i-say-it hybrid approach.
