Cultivar Review: Highside by Mary Mary
Next up in Hall of Flowers cultivar coverage is Mary Mary’s Highside strain.

Let’s address the white (purple) elephant in the room. I have never seen anything that purple in a bag or jar with the word “sativa” written on it.
The Highside bag is marked as “sativa leaning” – not sativa dominant – and “all day use.” Those are great descriptors that help steer the smoker/vaper away from the outdated morphological only spectrum of sativa and indica. The average cannabis user doesn’t care how wide the plant’s leaves are. They do care what time of day they can use the plant’s flower, and a guesstimate of whether it’ll be an upper or downer. It let me know right off the bat that what’s in it has lots of qualities associated with other products that have traditionally been marked as Sativa but can be used all day.
But I can’t remember the last time I smoked something this purple that didn’t put me to sleep or in the kitchen.
Mary Mary highside has Light lemon gas and flat soda on the flower. A lil camphor and other natural herbiness but also a whiff of some familiar and sought after chemlike cleaner. What I’m trying to say is… It’s definitely not grape.
Bud was different colored on the many smalls in the bag. Short pistils – the buds were not that hairy but were notably airy-er and quite pleasantly tactile when broken up. The purple ones were super puro purp. With the pictured nug the darkest purple. All as a backdrop to contrast with for the tan trikes. Nice trim and cure. The shape of the nug is there but leaves are still protecting the trikes just as it should be.
Very full body smoke.
The high is on the high side of the scale. An in your face. In the moment high. A one track high. Later on it results in a nice even keel of a bzzt that sits with you for the longrun. That is to say, there’s a long and enjoyable tail.
Looking at the maps for weed and other dispo menu resources, I see that the price for this Highside is not on the higheside. So give it a try 🙂
