Next to review from Tenco is their rendition of Gelonade, Purple Lemon Tree. With the branding in their “not for resale sample” black Tenco bags, accompanied by a plastic box inside (like Lumpy’s packaging). Upon opening I instantly received a familiar aroma of Gelonade, displaying refreshing vibrant notes of zesty lemon complemented by uplifting notes of pine with hints of menthol, accompanied by light earthy undertones with traits of Skunk and chemicals. The buds were of a medium to hard density and had a hybrid structure.
They were a shade of light green, alongside hues of purple with notable dark ridges commonly found on Gelonade, alongside messy rustic pistils, covered in an almost white layer of trichomes. Upon inhaling my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering refreshing and sour notes of zesty lemon infused with pine and a hint of menthol, alongside a subdued creamy and faintly sweet Gelato earthiness. The taste of this uplifting lemon sour earthiness was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of light to medium grey, alongside an instantaneous oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, I overall found Purple Lemon Tree to deliver an enjoyable classic lemon profile, exhibiting its Gelonade lineage effectively. Despite producing a slightly darker shade of ash than expected, it smoked well, ticking most boxes and with a little further dialling in will easily remain a sought after classic staple of Tenco’s lineup.
