Purple Zazul Hash Thumbprint Review
When seeing this appear on @sddank420‘s menu, I have to admit alarm bells went off in my head to make sure this one ended up in my head stash. I’ve always wanted to try Zazul, as its lineage is made from 2 legendary cultivars, being Planet Purple F2 & Zkittlez. And seeing that the Zazul Jam in the center was to be enclosed by Purple Papaya Runtz ColdCure really had my appetite peaked to the max. I have to admit, I already had high expectations, but when cracking the seal both the appearance and smell I was met with truly blew me away.
The jar opened to reveal a perfect thumbprint cookie design, with Purple Papaya Runtz 90-149u ColdCure making up the white-gold outer ring & Zazul 90-149u Jam making up the inner pond of golden-amber terp soaked crystals. The jar had no signs of containments, while emphasizing a clean, beautiful presentation that contrasts each other with its different consistencies of ColdCure & Jam. The white but gold tinted ColdCure was moist & wet with a thick but juicy rosin badder consistency. The amber colored Jam was thick with crystals but also saucy with juicy terps, that were semi viscous and could slowly but surely slide to one side of the jar when tipped. The white but gold tinted cold cure was speckled with amber tan freckles and occasional surface nicks, while the juicy jam was highlighted with occasional surface bubbles and cells. Scooping the heat cured jam with a flathead can be slightly difficult, as it gets really saucy and starts to drip terps off the dab tool shortly after the scoop. The Zazul’s juicy terp syrup will definitely soak into the Purple Papaya Runtz regardless of trying to keep them separate, so identifying what purple terps came from what cultivar could be slightly difficult once that juicy syrup has coated the ColdCures surface area.
Before I even brought my nose to the jar I was met with a sweet, jelly, jammy, liquidated purple kool-aid terp made from grape, blueberry, & blackberry juiciness that smacked me in the face. It was made up with underlinings of purple cream, purple fruit, & earthy gassy pine pungency lined by runtzy purple flowery florals, thats dipped in a sweet sugar coated candy grapefruit citrus sweetness that has a zesty lime zkittley presence wrapped up in a nutty, vanilla cookie creaminess. Emerging from the Runtzy-Zazul terps, & highlighting the profile, is a juicy orange-mango-papaya herbal spicy fruit funk overtone, that reeks of pure tropical cheesiness that’s both vulgar and funky but also deliciously sweet with tropical citruses at the same time. The tropical-cheesy backside blends into the various purple terps and various candy terps perfectly, giving the base of the profile a nice tropical cheesy fruit funk backside. The Zazul seems to be responsible for the sugary sweet candy lime zest, grapefruit citruses, lemon diesel fuel, & pine-menthol pungency thats rounded out by a base of blackberry jam, purple cream, doughy candy florals, doughy hazelnut, & sweet sugary vanilla cookie creaminess. The Zazul accompanies the Purple Papaya Runtz very well, adding to its overall presence of purple terps, but definitely highlighting it with some signature zesty (but super creamy) Candy-Z traits as well. The Purple Papaya Runtz Seems to be responsible for a good deal of the various purple terps, classic runtzy creamy candy gelato-like florals, and of course the cheesy tropical fruity citrus overtone that brings the aroma profile to a close.
The Zazul jam dabbed by itself was really clean in the Highly Educated Control Tower BLK at 515*F, with a clean but thorough melt that provided smooth vapor that was impeccably clean, with zero distortion. The flavor strength was really strong emphasizing the candy lime zesty citrus, vanilla cookie-creamy sugary sweetness, & zkittley grapefruit candy florals, while the purple berry jam, pine menthol pungency, lemon fuel & doughy hazelnut nutty funky creamy diesel notes wrap it all together. The effects were pretty heavy with a notably fat headband buzz and a simultaneous couch locked bake, perfect for medicating purposes and sleepy pre-bedtime dabs. It also carries a nice euphoric chest pressure I can really get behind.
Dabbing the Purple Papaya Runtz by itself was also a treat, as it melted really clean while providing intense flavor strength that was loaded with sweet n creamy purple berry koolaid terps, & a freezer burnt pine pungent ice cream gelato floral gas that blends into a classic Runtzy earthy swampy musky purple candy florals that’s highlighted by a signature sugary ‘pink runtz’ candy terp thats has a pink perfume-y floral delivery that lingers on the aftertaste. That insanely cheesy but fruity tropical papaya-mangosteen part of the profile is present throughout the entire dab, a nice counterpart to the purple runtz terps, but the cheesy papaya part of the profile seems to clarify even more in the lower temps or as you finish off your dab, where as the purple candy runtz terps seem to be slightly more dominant during the higher temps &/or at the beginning of the dab. The effects from the Purple Papaya Punch were also Stoney, but not as heavy as the Zazul was. It offers a nice headband and partial low eye, as well as some moderate body relaxation, but it also carries some slight euphoric uplift throughout the body buzz that keeps you up for the ride.
Dabbing both the Zazul & Purple Papaya Runtz together really doubles down on the presence of various juicy purple terps, as well as various candy terps. The Zazul really adds a nice candy lime grapefruit zesty citrus complexity to the runtz’s candied purple n pink terps, while its sweet sugary vanilla cookie creaminess blends into the runtz purple gelato floral creaminess perfectly. The tropical cheesy papaya terps stand out from the rest of the profile, but wraps everything together In the most delicious manner. The effects from dabbing them together is quite heavy, with that full on headband pressure, low red eye, and heavy limb couch lock that’s sure to lead to a good nights rest. It’s calming and relieves stress & pain really well. Some of that euphoric uplift from the PPR pulls through with some nice chest pressure, but the Zazuls heaviness definitely sets the primary tone.
All around I really loved this jar, it was a beautiful jar of rosin that had some insanely complex terps to sort through. My preferences in terps were most definitely peaked with the pairing of Purple Papaya Runtz & Zazul. The quality of the rosin was top notch as to be expected with Real Cannabis Chris, melting nicely and tasting splendid with nice smooth vapor and zero distortion types on the backend, Just clean complexities of deliciously juicy terps. The effects were the icing on the cake, with the heaviness supplied by the Zazul being a key factor of enjoyment while also tasting clean & superb.
