Having enjoyed a majority of the collaborations between WIYE and Baydestrians, I was excited to try their new organic living soil Shottas signature series, referencing the iconic Jamaican gangster movie. With the flower lineup starting with Biggs, being a cross of two greats; Cotton Candy and Gelato 41.
Upon opening I was greeted by notes of an earthy and spicy Gelato with traits of pine, hazelnut and cream. This gas was complemented by mild undertones of bubblegum, displaying soft notes of cherries and strawberries. The buds were of a hard density, having a hybrid structure.
They were a shade of light green with sporadic attractive pink and purple guts, alongside minimal pistils and absolutely covered in trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was overcome by notes translated from the smell, revealing a dominant smooth Gelato chemical and earthy gas with creamy, floral and hazelnut traits, complemented by a soft bubblegum candy displaying mild notes of cherries and strawberries with a hint of spice.
The taste of deep Gelato remains dominant with soft candy notes retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light grey, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, as with any Cotton Candy cross, the sweet influence was soft as expected, however this encourages pleasant in depth gassy notes of Gelato 41 to flourish, leaving am enjoyable balance of both crosses. Biggs ultimately ticked a lot of boxes, smoked exceptionally well and with minimal dialling in required, will remain a great choice for those who prefer a gassy Gelato profile without an excessive amount of candy.
